NPs and PAs: Enhance Your Delivery of Patient Care

AGA's popular course for NPs and PAs will be help this summer in Chicago, IL.

Taking place Aug. 19 to 21, 2016, in Chicago, IL, the Principles of GI for the Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Physician Assistant (PA) course offers a comprehensive program that focuses on best practices and evidence-based medicine within a team-based GI model. The course provides attendees with an opportunity to develop and enhance diagnostic and therapeutic skills, which attendees can bring back to their own practice to help improve overall patient care.

Sessions will cover:

  • Esophageal disorders, including GERD, Barrett's esophagus, gastroparesis and cyclical vomiting syndrome.
  • Gastric and large bowel disorders, including IBS/SIBO, C. diff and celiac disease.
  • Colon disorders, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
  • PA certification maintenance, GI pharmacology and inpatient and outpatient special cases.
  • Liver and pancreas disorders, including hepatitis C, NASH, chronic pancreatitis and available treatments.

A practice management networking lunch will also be held on day one (Aug. 19) of the course, giving attendees the opportunity to meet each other and discuss issues important to GI team-based care.
