Upcoming AGA Course Fosters Professional Network Among NPs, PAs

New and experienced NPs, PAs have an opportunity to exchange insight on optimal patient care during lunch session.

AGA’s annual course Principles of Gastroenterology for the Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Physician Assistant (PA) will feature a free lunch session designed to provide NPs and PAs who are new to GI with an opportunity to interact with more experienced course attendees. Throughout this special session, attendees will be encouraged to freely discuss successes and challenges while working in the GI field for a shared learning experience.

During the course, attendees will also have an opportunity to explore other topics such as:

  • Disease burden and current and future treatment options for viral hepatitis.
  • Evaluation and treatment for small bowel and colon disorders, including IBD, diarrheal diseases and bacterial overgrowth.
  • Utilizing non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic treatment options, including dosing and side effects and therapies under investigation.
  • Management of various GI malignancies of the upper and lower GI tract, liver and neuroendocrine systems.
